Digital X-ray Systems a Part of Ecomagination Initiative

www.gehealthcare.com

This world is often trying to find more ways to go green and our digital X-ray systems at GE Healthcare are working as a part of the ecomagination initiative as well. While most X-ray systems require water and chemicals to process, our models can avoid these risks and still achieve the same quality image. To help preserve our water supply, just one digital system helps to save over 156,000 gallons of water annually.

Both our fixed and mobile radiology systems also follow this initiative by saving energy and space. Our GE Healthcare Digital X-ray rooms are designed to take the place of two of our existing analog rooms, with the fixed system's ability to convert between both digital and analog systems. In one Central South hospital, a GE Healthcare Digital X-ray system saved them over $90,000 a year.

With six different fixed models and three mobile systems, there are plenty of ways hospitals can save energy and water. Our environment is an important place, and GE Healthcare is doing our part to protect it with our ecomaginative initiative and digital X-ray systems. How are you doing yours?

CARESCAPE Mobile Viewers Now Provides Patient Information on the Go

www.gehealthcare.com

As a part of the Care Ports line for patient monitoring, the GE Healthcare team has made accessing patients’ clinical information convenient for all. Doctors can access this important information without being by the bedside. With the Mobile Viewers, clinicians can access up to sixteen patients’ information on a wireless PDA, mobile phone, PC, Mac, or tablet.

In order to provide more focused care for patients, this revolutionary technology allows you to access your patient information anywhere- down the hall, in your office, at home, or wherever you may be. Data is available all hours of the day, permitting these healthcare professionals to accurately assess a patient’s status at any given time.

The devices display vital signs, active visual alarms and near real-time wavelengths in detail and can store up to seventy-two hours of graphs and numerical trends. With all this privileged information, the Mobile Viewers are password protected so only those with authorization can access the device.

New Vscan Dual Probe to Allow More Immediate Medical Attention

In the pursuit of revolutionary medical technology, GE Healthcare is back at it. With the new Vscan Dual Probe, we are decreasing patient wait time by permitting medical staff to perform ultrasounds in nearly any location of the hospital. These new pocket-sized devices are able to perform both deep and shallow views to help reduce the time involved in making a medical diagnosis.

The “dual” portion of the probe lies on the inside. It contains both a linear and a sector probe. This helps to assure the ultrasounds will be complete in a matter of minutes and allows doctors to view more of what a basic ultrasound would look like, but easier. CEO of GE Ultrasounds, Anders Wold, tells Axis Imaging News, “We hope with our new Vscan with Dual Probe we have made the use of ultrasound at the point of care, simple and fast all the while helping healthcare providers improve access to impactful medical technology.”
